Community Bridge to Wellness

In 2025, join the Bridgeville Library for our wellness journey. All year, we will be promoting mental and physical health by providing chair fitness classes, yoga sessions, trail walking sessions and more. You will choose your own 3 fitness goals, and use a journal to keep track of your journey. All programs are FREE to anyone and all are welcome! Chair Fitness Classes have been extended through June! Yoga classes with Bonnie are starting March 12th. The program kick-off date was Thursday, March 20th, but you can still visit the library to register and receive a health journal and an insulated travel bag. Join us with Dr. Michelle Hammond for a therapeutic session: Let's Talk Stress on Friday, April 4th @ 6pm. It will be a presentation on stress for the body and soul, and how it affects everyone. She will bring demonstrations of stress relief techniques. Everyone who attends will receive a certificate for attending and learning about stress. It's free and open to the public.

"Swing into Spring" Vendor & Craft Show

Join us for our "Swing into Spring" Vendor & Craft Show on Saturday, April 12th from 9am-1pm. We will have over 20 local vendors with decor, household, personalized, crafty items and so much more. There will also be a food truck, basket raffle tickets, the Friends of the Bridgeville Library's bake sale, a book sale, and free lemonade! At this time, our vendor list is FULL!

Children's Programs

Bring your child to the library on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month @11am to read to the L.E.A.P. dogs. The goal of the Literacy Education Assistance Pups is to improve the literacy skills of children and grow their enthusiasm for reading. Join Ms. Hilary for stories, songs, and rhymes about Spring in April. Story Book Corner is held on Tuesdays at the library at 10am (for ages 3-5). On Wednesdays, it is at 9am for birth-2 years old. Join Ms. Hilary on Thursday, April 10th at 11am for an Introduction to Economics & Marketing. Learn basic concepts: supply and demand, profit and loss, marketing basics, and product/service analysis. This will tie into our business fair in May. Registration is required for Library Learners League.

Family Programs

For the next 8 months, our Community Bridge to Wellness is promoting fitness and wellness offering many different events. If you haven't registered already, visit the library to do so, and receive a free health journal and an insulated tote bag. Join our self-led walking groups, starting Wednesday, April 23rd. Meet in the parking lot and walk the Hometown trail: Wednesdays at 9am, Thursdays at 7pm, Saturdays at 8am (last Saturday of the month, walk to Cahall Park in town).

Adult Programs

---The Book discussion is FULL---Adult Craft Night is FULL---Join the Bridgeville Senior Center for a Dance Class on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month starting in March through May. This will be held at the Bridgeville Public Library and is geared for the 55+ age group. Bring some friends and get a workout dancing to popular dances. Wear comfortable clothes. Water will be provided. FREE and open to the public. Join us for Yoga Class with Bonnie (Ananda Yoga) on Wednesdays, starting March 12 @ 6pm. All ages and levels are welcome, and open to the public. Please bring your own mat. The online link is in INFO. We are looking for beginners to experienced players to learn or play the game of Mahjong! This is for adults and open to teens 14+. It will be held on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month, starting on March 28th from 3:30-5:30pm. We will have 2 boards available or you may bring your own board/racks and cards/tiles to play, if you wish. We will be playing the American version of Mahjong, using the 2024 card. Tween/Teen Programs

Join Ms. Hilary at the library on Thursday, March 27th from 4pm-5pm. You will watch anime together, vote on what to watch next, dive into the stories, discuss characters, plot twists, and everything in between. ALL ANIME WILL BE RATED FOR AGES 14 AND UNDER. Join Ms. Miranda at the library for a fun interactive Book Club on Thursday, March 27th @3:30pm for ages 8-14. This month's book is "Half Moon Investigations". Several copies of the book are reserved at the library. It is also available as an ebook on the Libby or Hoopla App. Registration is requested. Beginners to experienced players-play the game of Mahjong! This is for adults and open to teens 14+, held on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month, from 3:30-5:30pm. We will have 2 boards available or you may bring your own board/racks and cards/tiles to play. We will be playing the American version of Mahjong, using the 2024 card. Registration is required. Join Small Town Gaming for a Free Play Day on Saturday, March 29th from 10am-2pm. Bring some friends and play your favorite video games. For Middle School-Kaytra MacDonald-Community Health Worker with Tank Mentality will present: Personal Care. Topics she will cover: Your changing body; ways to take care of your body; Suggestions/resources for hygiene and puberty. Part of our Community Bridge to Wellness Program. Free and open to the public.

If you haven’t joined or wish to renew your membership with the Friends, visit the library or go to the Friends section on our website for the membership form. Consider attending our monthly meeting on Monday, April 21st @10:30am. Our Friends group helps with programming, fundraising, volunteering, and more. We would love your support!

Festival of Words

The Festival of Words will be held at Woodbridge High School on Saturday, April 5th from 8am-3pm. Since 2000, the Festival of Words Delaware has been a FREE annual event for elementary & secondary students, teachers, parents, and librarians. The event was developed to encourage a love of reading and writing by introducing young adults to diverse authors and ideas.
