Board of Trustees: Applications Being Accepted
Our Board of Trustees is seeking applicants for a five-year term on the board. Interested parties need to submit a letter and resumé to the Bridgeville Public Library by Friday, August 7, 2026. Applicants must be a resident of the Woodbridge School District, preferably within the Bridgeville post office service area. Meetings are normally held on the third Wednesday of the month at 9:30am, which are open to the public.

Special Summer Reading Programs
Join us on Wednesday, July 15th at 1pm for the Rehoboth Children's Summer Theatre production of "The Jungle Book", the story of Mowgli and his animal friends in the jungle trying to find him a home in the village. The actors are always entertaining and hilarious! Join us at Saturday Story Time on Saturday, July 25th from 11am-12pm as the Chesapeake Mermaid shares her love of the bay through an engaging live show with storytelling, music, movement, and more fun. Guests are invited to learn about her wildlife friends, explore bay creature sign language, and take part in an interactive story time that encourages curiosity and imagination for all ages. The experience also includes “Mermaid Moments,” where families can enjoy personal interactions and take photos to remember the day. Learn more about the Chesapeake Mermaid at ChesapeakeMermaid.com. The Chesapeake Mermaid's performances will begin promptly at 11am. Join us for “Discovering Magic”, a fast-paced, interactive magic show packed with surprises, laughter, and mystery with RanD' Shine on Thursday, August 6th @ 5:30pm. This show blends astonishing magic with the power of storytelling to spark curiosity and celebrate the magic of reading. It isn’t just a kids’ show—parents will be just as amazed, amused, and thoroughly entertained.

Family Programs
Join us as we celebrate America's birthday at the library for a week (Monday, June 29th through Thursday, July 2nd) during our regular business hours. Stop in for these FREE items: hot dog lunch, gift bags for kids, make & take it patriotic craft and a hygiene kit per family. Everyone is invited! No registration needed. Join us on Thursday, July 16th from 6-8pm for a fun family picnic with hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, chips, and lemonade. Children's Programs
Join Ms. Hilary on Tuesdays @ 10am in June for stories, songs, and rhymes about the Summer Reading Program theme "Unearth a Story". All ages are welcome! "Little Acorns" Music & Movement will be held on Wednesdays @ 9am in the library with Ms. Hilary. Enjoy dancing, swaying, or just observing at this time of movement, rhythm, and fun. Ms. Hilary will model some songs, rhymes, finger plays, and bounces to use at home. Join Ms. Hilary for Kids Craft Days for the Summer Reading Program. They will be held on Wednesdays in July @ 10am. All ages are welcome! The crafts are: July 1st - Patriotic popsicle stick flags; July 8th - Shark week crafts; July 15th- Pterodactyl puppets; July 22nd- Dino excavating; July 29th - Dino eyes. Want to learn a new way to communicate? Join our fun American Sign Language (ASL) crash course and learn basic signs through interactive activities and hands-on practice. You'll discover how to introduce yourself, communicate simple ideas, and explore the rich culture of the Deaf community. No experience is needed—just come ready to learn and try something new! By the end of the day, you'll have the confidence to use your new ASL skills and a greater appreciation for this unique language. This will be taught by an ASL interpreter and she is also a High School ASL teacher. Registration is required. Adult Programs
---Adult Craft Night is FULL--- Join us on Tuesday, July 7th @ 6pm to paint a flower of your choice using wood biscuits on a 5x6 wood block. Can’t wait to see your designs! Registration is required. Join us on Monday, July 6th AND Monday, July 13th @ 2pm for a fun cardio drumming class. PACE Your Life will be hosting "Drums Alive", suitable for all abilities and free to attend. It will be held on a first come-first served basis for up to 32 people. All equipment needed will be provided and you have an option to stand or sit. Join us on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 3-4pm at the library for BINGO! It's FREE to attend with FREE prizes. We will play at least six games of regular bingo for $5 Walmart Gift Cards. Up to two cards per person. Repeat winners will receive alternate prize. Refreshments will be provided by the Bridgeville Library.

Tween/Teen Programs
Join Ms. Hilary on Tuesdays (starting June 16th) from 12-3pm for "Teen Tuesdays". This is for ages 10-17. She will have crafts, snacks, and fun activities for you and some friends to enjoy! You can also join us for Library Learners League on Thursday, June 25th @ 2pm with the Delaware Historical Society as they present "Revolutionary Espionage". Discover famous spies, including one Delawarean who wreaked havoc on the British during the American Revolution. Explore and practice cloak-and-dagger techniques of the Revolutionary Era as students join spy groups, write coded messages, and spy on their adversaries. Please call 302-337-7401 ext. 101 to reserve a spot. Join Small Town Gaming for a FREE Play Day on Saturday, July 18th from 10am-2pm. Play all your favorite games on all your favorite consoles and meet new friends. A free lunch is provided.

Chicken BBQ Fundraiser
Tickets are on sale NOW at the library through the month of June! Support the Bridgeville Library at the Chicken BBQ Fundraiser held at the Kiwanis BBQ stand (4533 Seashore Highway, Bridgeville, DE) on Saturday, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th from 9am until sold out. Please consider purchasing tickets in advance at the library or from a Friends member by July 6th. A chicken platter is $12, a half chicken is $10. There will also be a bake sale for purchase with delicious treats prepared by the Friends of the Bridgeville Library. Thank you for your support!

CPR Certification Classes
The Bridgeville Library is offering a CPR Certification Class on Saturday, July 18th from 3-6pm and on Tuesday, August 11th @ 5:30-8:30pm. A certified CPR American Heart Association Instructor will be teaching this class. The cost is $65 per participant to receive certification. Registration is required and class is limited to 10 participants. To register: call the library at 302-337-7401 ext. 101. Payment must be received by July 15th (for July 18th class); August 8th (for August 11th class) and will be accepted by (in this order): cash, check or credit card.
