The library will be officially CLOSED on Wednesday, June 19th for the Juneteenth Holiday, but we are hosting the Cornerstone Community Center's Juneteenth Brunch and Vendor Fair at 10am. The public is invited to attend to celebrate freedom and faith with the Rev Dr. RJ Chandler as main speaker. This event is open to the public.

Children's Programs

Join Ms. Hilary for Story Book Corner on Tuesdays @ 10am at the library for all ages. The theme for the Summer Reading Program is "Adventure Begins at Your Library", so there will be stories, songs, and rhymes about adventure. Bring your child to the library on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month @11am to read to the L.E.A.P. dogs. The goal of the Literacy Education Assistance Pups is to improve the literacy skills of children and grow their enthusiasm for reading. We are so happy to have them back at the library! The Summer Reading Program Kids Craft Day will be held on Wednesdays in June @ 10am. Join Ms. Hilary on June 12th to make firefly lanterns; and June 26th to make Perler bead designs. All ages are welcome! We are closed on June 19th for Juneteenth. Join us for Saturday Story Book Brunch on Saturday, June 22nd at 10am with stories, songs, and rhymes about adventure followed by a delicious brunch!

Join Small Town Gaming for a FREE Play Day on Saturday, June 15th from 10am-2pm. Enjoy playing video games and meeting new friends. A free lunch is provided. On Saturday, June 22nd @ 12pm, we will have fun activities in which you must solve riddles and puzzles to advance your adventure. Registration is required. On Thursday, June 27th at 5pm, Ran'D Shine will be in the library for an entertaining and engaging magic and comedy show! Magician & Comedian Ran’D Shine is known for performing "Real Magic for Real People." The Jungle John Reptile Show will be on Saturday, June 29th @ 2pm. Jungle John always draws a large crowd with his amazing reptiles.

Concert in the Park

Join us for a Concert in the Park featuring Barren Creek Band on Saturday, June 29th from 6-8pm. There will be food trucks on site and limited chairs provided (consider bringing your own chair or blanket). The concert will be held at Passwaters Park (behind the library). For GPS-use 600 S. Cannon St. Bridgeville, DE. This event is brought to you by the Bridgeville Library, The Friends of the Bridgeville Library, and the Town of Bridgeville. IT is FREE to attend!

Kiwanis BBQ Fundraiser

Support the Bridgeville Library at our annual Chicken BBQ fundraiser at the Kiwanis BBQ stand @ 4560 Seashore Highway, Bridgeville. It will be held on Saturday, July 13th and Sunday, July 14th from 9am until sold out. Chicken platters are $12 and half chicken only is $10. The Friends of the Bridgeville Library will also be there with a bake sale table for purchase. You can purchase tickets in advance at the library or from a Friends member by July 5th. Thank you for your support!

July Special Summer Reading Programs

On Tuesday, July 2nd @ 11am, Meadow Perry Bubble Magician. She creates breathtakingly, beautiful magic out of thin air with bubbles!! Jeff Hopkins, Storyteller will perform on Tuesday, July 16th @ 2pm. Jeff is a storyteller, web series host, illustrator, and long-time advocate for the arts in education. He performs live drawing an storytelling shows across the country! Join us with Amber Tamosaitis on Monday, July 22nd at 3:30pm. Amber is a Japanese-to-English Translator, Narrative Designer and Author. In this hour session, she will focus on super basics like greetings, simple phrases, asking and giving your name, and writing a few characters. Rehoboth Children's Summer Theatre will perform "Robin Hood" on Tuesday, July 23rd @ 3pm. Join us for tricks and disguises, and plenty of laughs, with two actors who bring eight fanciful characters and the story to life. This energetic, imaginative forty-five minute production is sure to delight family audiences of all ages!
