Harvest Moon Market Vendor Event

Join us for vendors, raffles, food, door prizes and fun for the whole family! On Saturday, November 16th from 9am until 2pm, the library will be filled with crafts, gifts, and decor. The Crisp and Cozy Cafe will be serving breakfast sandwiches and pulled pork for purchase. Support the Friends of the Bridgeville Library and shop in the “Friends Attic” and purchase delicious fall baked goods and basket raffle tickets. There will also be door prizes every 30 minutes, a Fall photo booth and a FREE kids zone! Our vendors include: Ashiragemz, Avon, Bree's Jewelry, Tupperware, PaperPie, Poosh Crafts, Color Street, Miller and Co., Harper Creatives, Kily Kreations, Pampered Chef, Tru Waters Art, Devine Creations, Jewelry Junkie, Iron Sun Designs, Lofty Creations, Edawd Boutique, My Honey's Bees, Kaleidoscope Designs, BSB Pillows and Quilts, Hook and Yarn Creations, Seaside Cottage Creations, The Simple Things in Delaware, Made from Scratch Baked Goods, Balcony Beads & Beach Glass, Homemade crafts, and more.

Children's Programs

Bring your child to the library on the second and fourth Tuesday (October 8th and 22nd) of every month @11am to read to the L.E.A.P. dogs. The goal of the Literacy Education Assistance Pups is to improve the literacy skills of children and grow their enthusiasm for reading. Join Ms. Hilary for stories, songs, and rhymes about Autumn in October. Story Book Corner for all ages will be held at the Seaford Chick-Fil-A on the first Tuesday (October 1st) of every month @ 10am. On the other Tuesdays, it will be at the library at 10am and is geared for ages 3-5. On Wednesdays, there is a new time- it will be held at 9am and is geared for birth-2 year olds. Ms. Hilary would love to share with you! Join Ms. Hilary for an educational experience to be held on the 2nd Thursday of every month from 11am-12pm at the library. Each month will have different topic geared for school-aged children. The topic for November 14th is History of Holidays in November and December. Registration is required. We will have a dedicated area tailored for the younger learners (ages 6 & under), if you would find it more beneficial.

Family Programs

---FULL---Join us on Thursday, October 17th from 6-8pm with your family for our Perfect Pumpkin Party. There will be fun games and fall treats. Each child will receive a small pumpkin to decorate. The library staff will be participating in the Town of Bridgeville's Halloween Trunk or Treat and Trick or Treat on Thursday, October 31st from 6-8pm at the Bridgeville Fire Hall and at the library.

Adult Programs

Join us on Wednesdays @ 9:30am through the months of September and October for Chair Fitness Class with Bree Rudy, ISSA Group Exercise Instructor. She will conduct a 50 minute class for adults only. Bring your own light weights, if desired. All levels of expertise are welcome. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy sneakers. Bring water and a smile! FREE and open to the public. ---The Book Discussion is FULL---Join us on Saturday, October 26th from 11am-1pm as we discuss the book selection “Chasing the Boogeyman” by Richard Chizmar and also enjoy a variety of Chesapeake-inspired cuisine. The book is available on Libby. Registration is required.Join us on Tuesday, November 12th from 6-8pm to use your creativity and make a fall craft of your choosing. There are 4 different projects: small wreath, wood set of pumpkins/scarecrows, square sign board, or tin can pumpkin/scarecrow. Specify which craft when registering (if you register online, please put your choice in the NOTES).

Tween/Teen Programs

Small Town Gaming is having an event to help the children treated at The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Join us on Saturday, November 2nd from 10am to 5pm and play games you love while raising money for those kids. The Extra Life Fundraiser helps children with trauma, diabetes, cancer, surgeries and babies in NICU. Donations accepted but not required to play. Join us for a new program for ages 8-14 with Ms. Miranda at the library on Thursday, November 21st from 3:30-4:30pm. We will be discussing "The Wild Robot" by Peter Brown in this fun and interactive Book Club. Several copies of the book are reserved at the library and it is also available as an e-book or audio book on the Libby App. Registration is requested. PACE Your Life Presentation

Join PACE Your Life with a presentation "Successful Components of Aging: Understanding and Planning on Wednesday, October 30th at the Bridgeville Library at 11am. You will learn helpful tips that will increase your ability to age successfully in your home. You will also learn the levels of care and the cost of care for adults 55 and older. Sussex County Mobile Health Unit

The Delaware Division of Public Health will be here with the Mobile Health Unit in the parking lot with available vaccines and health information on Thursday, October 24th from 10am-3pm. They will also be here on Thursday, November 14th and Thursday, December 5th.
