Impact Night with Chase Marvil and the Inspiring Project

Chase Marvil and his Inspiring Project will be at the Bridgeville Library to give our tweens and teens who may either feel left out, or like friendship isn’t easy for them, a place to go where they can feel welcomed and not alone. This program is aimed at our tweens and teens in grades 6-9, but is open to others who may be interested in attending. Join us on Thursday April 6th, Thursday April 20th, Friday May 5th, and Friday May 26th from 4:30-7pm for games, music, and food.

Libraries of Sussex County present their Summer Concert Series

On Wednesday May 31st at 6pm, the Libraries of Sussex County present their Summer Concert Series. The featured band for the Bridgeville Library will be “Shades of Blue”. You can visit the Bridgeville Library, our website, or our Facebook page for a complete listing of concerts being held at other Sussex County Libraries through the month of July. This concert series is made possible by a grant award from the Delaware Division of Libraries.

Summer Reading Program Registration Begins on Thursday June 1st

Registration for our 2017 Summer Reading Program, “Build A Better World” begins on Thursday June 1st, and reading logs are due on Thursday August 10th. We have three age groups for our programs, Birth-11 years, 12-17 years, and 18 years and older. The program will conclude on Saturday August 12th with our end of Summer Reading Program Parties. Stop by the circulation desk to register and pick up your program packet. The Summer Reading Program will kickoff on Saturday June 3rd from 11am-2pm during our 3rd Annual Jumpin’ June Jamboree.

Jumpin' June Jamboree

Join us for the 3rd annual Jumpin' June Jamboree on Saturday, June 3rd from 11am-2pm at the Bridgeville Library. Our Friends of the Bridgeville Library are working hard to put on a great event for the community. The basket raffles are already displayed and tickets available at the library, stop in and buy your tickets early. There is a pie baking contest for the adults, and a cookie baking and a coloring contest for the kids. Please stop by the library for contest information and entry deadlines. Ms. Kathy and the Library staff will also be there, as we kick-off the Summer Reading Program with tons of fun free activities for the kids. We will have an inflatable ninja course, face painting, sand art, ducky train ride, car and tractor display, and games courtesy of the Union United Methodist Church Summer Camp! This event is also a fundraiser for the Friends to support the Library, so please consider purchasing your lunch, buying basket raffle tickets, 50/50 tickets, and browsing the "white elephant" sale tables. We will be rockin' along with our DJ from J&B Entertainment. It's going to be an amazing time and we hope you will join us at the Bridgeville Library!

Library Gaming, Free Play Day

Join us on Saturday June 10th from 10am-2pm, as “Small Town Gaming” offers an open arcade for the day. They will have XBox One, PS4, Wii U, Madden17, NBA2K17, COD: Infinite Warfare, Nintendoland, MarioKart, Card Games, and more. You may bring your own console if you would like to do so. This event is free, and open to ALL ages.

Cursive Crash Course

Join us as Ms. Deb teaches the art of cursive, or can help you hone your skills. The course is FREE, and open to all skill levels, ages 10 years to adult. The course will be held from 11am-12:30pm, Monday - Thursday, June 12th - June 22nd. Registration is required. Please contact the circulation desk at (302) 337-7401, ext 101 to sign up.

"Hidden Figures" Movie and Discussion

We invite you to a special screening of Hidden Figures. We encourage you to share this experience with your younger generation to learn about the accomplishments of these pioneering women! After the show, we will have a luncheon and a short discussion about the film and the achievements of the real life ladies of NASA.

Caterpillar Clubhouse

Bring your Luv Bug to the Bridgeville Public Library on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am to participate in our early literacy lapsit program. The Caterpillar Clubhouse is a cradle to crayons program for your child age 3 months to 3 years.
