Children's Summer Reading Program- June 25th-27th

On Tuesday, June 25th, from 11am-12pm the Children's Reading Program will present “Footsteps on the Moon” brought to you from D.A.S.E.F. (Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation). The children will revisit the mission of Apollo 11 and begin dreaming about their own part in the future of space exploration! They will: make a straw rocket to learn about action/reaction; make and test a model of the lunar module to ensure a soft landing; design a rover capable of surveying the surface of Mars and create a modular artificial habitat for the Moon and Mars. This program is made possible by collaboration between the Delaware Division of the Arts and the Delaware Division of Libraries. On Thursday, June 27th from 11am-12pm, the Children's Summer Reading Program will be making Space Picture Frames. Materials will be provided for the children to decorate a picture frame in a space theme. Since it may get messy, please wear appropriate clothes.
